Peru has listed 67 Licensed iGaming Brands

As of October 24, 2024, the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism of Peru (Mincetur) has officially authorized 67 brands to operate regulated online gambling and sports betting platforms in the country. According to the updated report on Authorization Holders, these 67 brands are linked to 64 different companies.

The first authorization was granted to Kaizen Gaming Peru, which registered the brand Betano.pe on March 27. The most recent brand to receive authorization was Jackpotcity.pe, registered by Baytree Interactive Limited on August 16.

In an earlier interview, Yuri Guerra, Director General of Casinos and Slot Machines, revealed that by June 2024, 80 companies had submitted 145 operating license applications, of which only 43 had been approved at the time. Guerra explained that authorized companies were given a 90-day period to align their platforms and gaming software with regulatory requirements, thereby formalizing the market.

Mincetur also announced the creation of the Virtual Gaming Authorization Directorate, responsible for overseeing iGaming licenses. The directorate consists of a director, legal advisors, financial specialists, and administrative staff. The Supervision Directorate will remain unified for both land-based and online sectors, with plans to increase the number of inspectors and supervisors, training them to audit iGaming companies.

In addition, Mincetur recently confirmed that Lima has been selected as the host city for the Ibero-American Gaming Summit (CIJ), which will take place on May 27-28, 2025, under the theme "Innovation and Regulation: The Future of Gaming in Latam."
